What to expect
- Numbing – the tooth is numbed so you feel comfortable.
- Preparing the tooth – we gently remove the decay or old filling.
- Filling – the composite is placed in layers, shaped and set with a special light.
- Polishing – we check your bite and polish the filling so it feels smooth.
If a tooth has a very large cavity or is badly broken, a crown may be a stronger option – often made in one visit with our same-day CEREC crowns.

With good brushing, flossing and regular check-ups, white fillings can last for many years.
Can I eat straight afterwards?
Yes, once the numbness wears off. White fillings are set during your appointment.
